DHAKA, Dec 07, 2023 (BSS) - A joint meeting between Industries Ministry and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) for the development of the country's industrial sector was held at the ministry's conference room here today.

Senior Secretary of the Industries Ministry Zakia Sultana led the Industries Ministry side while FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam led the FBCCI side, said a press release.

During the meeting, Zakia Sultana said Industries Ministry is working under the leadership and guidance of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
 
"Industries Ministry will work with businessmen to build a modern, happy-prosperous, and golden Bangladesh by 2041," she added.

She said it is not the purpose of the government to manage the business activities.

"Rather, the government is working to determine and guide various policies to ensure a fair business environment for private entrepreneurs. The government has taken various initiatives to be self-sufficient in the fertilizer and sugar sectors," she added.

Mahbubul Alam said in addition to accelerating industrialization by formulating appropriate industrial policies, the Ministry of Industries is providing important contributions to reform the state-owned enterprises, developing SMEs and small and cottage industries, protecting product quality and intellectual property rights, creating skilled manpower in the industrial sector and enhancing competitiveness.?
