DHAKA, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) – Since the interim government assumed office in August, 2024, it took 526 decisions and issued 116 ordinances while 439 decisions have already been implemented, reflecting an implementation rate of 83.46 percent.

“The interim government held 68 regular weekly meetings between August 8, 2024 and January 31, 2026 with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair and took 526 decisions. Of these decisions, 439 have already been implemented, reflecting an implementation rate of 83.46 percent,” Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said.
 
While addressing a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy here this afternoon, he said the information was revealed at the weekly meeting of the Council of Advisers at the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) here in the morning.
 
During this period, the press secretary said, a total of 116 ordinances have so far been issued while 16 ordinances remain under process, of which three have already received policy-level approval.
 
Shafiqul Alam also said that a total 30 policy-related instruments, including policies, guidelines, strategies, and action plans, were undertaken during this period, adding, among these, 16 have been signed or ratified, while 14 remain under implementation.
 
Moreover, the government has entered into 14 bilateral agreements during this timeframe, he said.
 
Noting that the implementation rate of the interim government’s decisions is exceptionally high compared with previous governments, Shafiqul Alam said the ordinances were not issued with minor or symbolic amendments; rather, many of them involve substantive reforms that are expected to have far-reaching and transformative impacts on the lives of the people of Bangladesh.

Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammad and Assistant Press Secretary Shuchismita Tithi were present at the briefing.
