2,600 farmers receive agriculture incentives in Narail

NARAIL, July 3, 2022 (BSS) - The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has distributed high yielding Aman seeds and fertilizers free of cost as agricultural incentives for Aman farming among 2,600 small and marginal farmers under Sadar Upazila here today.

The agricultural stimulus was distributed under the agricultural incentive and rehabilitation programme during the current season with a view to increase the Aman paddy production.  

The beneficiaries were given five kilogram (KGs) of high yielding seed, 10 KGs of muriatic of potash (MOP) and 10 KGs of diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizers for Aman paddy cultivation for one Bigha land each under the incentive programme.

Deputy Commissioner of Narail Muhammad Habibur Rahman handed over the agriculture inputs among the small and marginal farmers as chief guest at the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises with Deputy Director of DAE Dipok Kumar Roy in the chair. Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sadia Islam, Sadar Upazila Vice-Chairman and general secretary of Bangladesh Mahila Awami League Ismot Ara were present as special guests. Narail Sadar Upazila agriculture officer Md Rokunuzzaman delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.

Deputy Director of DAE Dipok Kumar Roy said, the present government is a farmer-friendly one as it has taken various steps for the development of agriculture including Aman paddy. Agricultural incentives will help to boost Aman Paddy production here, he added.
