JHENAIDAH, Nov 30, 2023 (BSS) - A total of 3,150 small and marginal farmers in Sadar upazila of the district were given hybrid varieties of Boro paddy seeds free of cost as agriculture incentive under the incentive and rehabilitation programme for the cultivation of Boro paddy.

Sadar Upazila Chairman Rashidur Rahman Russell handed over the seeds to the farmers as the chief guest at a function on the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises this morning with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Razia Akhtar Chowdhury in the chair.

To increase the interest of farmers in Boro cultivation, the amount of incentive support and the number of farmers increased significantly in the district, officer of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) of the upazila Junaid Habib said.

He said that each of 3,150 farmers were given hybrid varieties of two kgs of Boro paddy seeds free of cost for Boro cultivation on one bigha of land.
