MYMENSINGH, sept 21, 2023 (BSS) - Around 150 small and marginal farmers of Muktagacha upazila got seeds and fertilizers free of cost today as incentive for the cultivation of Mashkali during the current Kharif 2 season. Ben fisheries were happy to get such a incentives for the program.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) AKM Lutfor Rahman distributed seeds and fertilizers among the listed farmers at a simple function held at the premises of the Upazila Parisad this morning. Upazila Agriculture Officer Salina Parven, Upazila Fishery officer Tariqul Islam, Upazila Agriculture Extension officer Qumrunnahar, Subassistant Agriculture officers and farmers were present.

Upazila Agriculture Officer said, the government has taken the incentive program for boosting the Mashkali production and motivate the farmers to cultivate more lands as well as to grow their interest.

DAE sources said, each of the beneficiaries got 5 kg's of quality seeds,10 kg's of MOP and 10 Kg's of DAP fertilizers free of cost. DAE has set a target to cultivate 150 bighas of land under the program in the Upazila this Kharif 2 season. A beneficiary Abdul Karim and others said, we are happy to get incentives free of cost which will help us to cultivate Mashkali.
