CHATTOGRAM, May 16, 2021 (BSS) – Five people received burn injuries in an explosion at a flat in city’s Bakolia area on Saturday night.
The victims are Pradeep Das, 52, Madhusadan Datt, 45, Jadu Biswash, 55, Pankaj Dey, 40 and Kishore Kumar Dey, 42.
The explosion occurred from a gas lighter for cigarettes at the flat owned by Pradeep Das at Bharapukur Par in the area at around 9 pm last night, leaving five people injured, said Mohammad Ruhul Amin, officer-in-charge of Bakolia thana.
The explosion took place when Prodip and his friends were playing cards at his house on Saturday night.
The injured have been admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Dr Rafiq Uddin head of CMCH Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit said that the victims received 40 percent to 75 percent burn injuries. Among them, Pradeep’s condition is critical, he added.
