Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 14, 2021 (BSS) – The holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest
religious festival of Muslims, was celebrated today in the port city
as elsewhere in the district with due religious solemnity amid the
coronavirus situation.

Earlier, the district administration, Chattogram City Corporation
and Islamic Foundation took steps to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in the city
and across the district abiding by the health directives.

Muslim devotees offered Eid prayers in mosques in the city and the
districts maintaining physical distance, wearing masks and abiding by
the health rules.

According to the guide line of Islamic Foundation and district
administrations, hand sanitizers were made available at the entrances
of every mosque. The devotees offered prayers maintaining proper
distance from one another.

A total of 259 Eid congregations, including three at the Jamiatul
Falah Mosque were held under the auspices of Chattogram Central Eid
Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and Chattogram City Corporation (CCC)
respectively.

A large number of devotees participated in the Eid prayers
maintaining social distancing and prayed for divine blessing for the
peace, prosperity and stability of the country as well as relief from
the coronavirus pandemic.

Chattogram metropolitan and district police sources said Eid-ul-Fitr
jamaats in the city and district were held peacefully. The authority
had taken adequate security measures by deploying sufficient law
enforcers at various strategic points in the city and districts.

Divisional Commissioner ABM Azad, CCC Mayor Reazaul Karim Chowdhury,
Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saleh Md Tanvir, Deputy
Commissioner Mominur Rahman, politicians and high officials
participated in the main congregation at Jamiatul Falah Mosque at 9
am.

The biggest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation of the district was held at
Andarkillah Shahi Jamia Mosque in the city at 9 am.

Besides, devotees participated in the Eid-ul-Fitr congregations at
mosques at all 14 upazila of the district between 8 am and 10 am.

The devotees offered special munajats seeking divine blessings for
eternal peace of departed souls of their relatives, respite from the
coronavirus pandemic and continued peace and prosperity of the
country, its people, Muslim Ummah and whole humanity.

The national flag was hoisted atop government, semi-government,
autonomous and private buildings and improved diets were served among
inmates of hospitals, jails, shishu paribars, orphanages and vagrant
welfare centres across the district.
