RANGPUR, May 13, 2021 (BSS) – Ninety jobless cultural activists affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic received Taka 5,000 each here as cash assistance from the government on Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said the Ministry of Cultural Affairs allocated the money for distribution among the jobless cultural activists of the district.
The district administration arranged a function for distribution of the money at District Shilpokola Academy auditorium in the city, abiding by the health directives amid the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Most Shahnaz Begum distributed the money among the cultural activists in the function as the chief guest to assist them in tackling the pandemic situation.
She distributed a total of Taka 4,50,000 among 90 jobless cultural workers with Taka 5,000 each in the function.
On the occasion, the chief guest said the government has taken various steps to assist the cultural workers who have lost their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic situation to stand beside them.
