Newly elected BGMEA Board takes charge
DHAKA, April 13, 2021 (BSS) – The newly elected Board of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has taken the charge of its office for the tenure 2021-2023.
The Acting President of BGMEA Mohammed Abdus Salam handed over the responsibility to the new board today at its office, said a press release.
The handover formalities took place following the BGMEA election held on April 4, 2021, where Sammilita Parishad, led by Faruque Hassan, former Senior Vice-President of BGMEA, won the biennial election, securing 24 posts of Directors, while the other panel, Forum, won 11 posts.
Faruque Hassan, the newly elected President, succeeded Dr. Rubana Huq, who served as the President since April 20, 2019.
As the leadership of BGMEA changed today, the following elected Directors will serve as the office bearers of BGMEA for the next two years.
They are: 1. Faruque Hassan, President, BGMEA & Managing Director of Giant Group.
2. Syed Nazrul Islam, First Vice President, BGMEA & Managing Director, Well Designers Ltd.
3. S. M. Mannan (Kochi), Senior Vice President, BGMEA & Managing Director, Seha Design (BD) Ltd.
4. Md. Shahidullah Azim, Vice President, BGMEA & Managing Director, Classic Fashion Concept Ltd.
5. Khandoker Rafiqul Islam, Vice President (Finance), BGMEA & Managing Director, Designtex Knitwear Ltd.
6. Miran Ali, Vice President, BGMEA & Director, Misami Garments Ltd.
7. Md. Nasir Uddin, Vice President, BGMEA & Managing Director, Sadma Fashion Wear Ltd.
8. Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Vice President, BGMEA & Managing Director, HKC Apparels Ltd.
