Winning start for Bangladesh in Bangabandhu Cup Int’l Kabaddi

DHAKA, March 28, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh got off to a auspicious start in the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi tournament beating Poland by 40-22 points with three creditable ‘lona’ in their opening match held today at Shaheed Noor Hossain volleyball stadium.

The winners’ led the first half by 20-11 points.

Bangladesh will play their second match against Nepal on March 29, meet Sri Lanka on March 30 and will play their last match against Kenya on March 31 at the same venue. The final of the tournament is slated on April 2.

Apart from host Bangladesh, Poland, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Kenya will take part in the six-day meet, which will be held marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and golden jubilee of Independence Day.

Earlier, Chowdhury Abdullah al-Mamun, Director General of Rapid Action Battalion, and president of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
