No alternative to online education: Zakir

KHULNA, Sept 16, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Mohammad Zakir Hossain today said there is no alternative to online education system during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“During the ongoing corona-virus pandemic the government has taken active measures to provide education to the students,” the state minister said while virtually addressed as the chief guest at a smartphone distribution function among the poor students.

Organised by Khulna district administration, Senior Secretary of the ministry Md Akram-AL-Hossain, acting director general of the Directorate of Primary and Mass Education Ministry Sohel Ahmed also virtually joined the function while Khulna divisional commissioner Md Anwar Hossain Howlader joined from his Khulna office.

The function was held at the deputy commissioner (DC) conference room with DC Md Helal Hossain in the chair.

Zakir said it’s an exemplary and unique initiative taken by the Khulna district administration for connecting with education both the teacher and student.

The state minister also said the government is providing internet facilities through Teletalk with monthly Taka 100 to run education smoothly of poor students.

The district administration has opened Digital Primary Education Khulna YouTube channel for primary students.

Later, DC Helal Hossain distributed smartphones among 1,717 poor students on behalf of the state minister.
