7,139 COVID-19 patients recover in Khulna division

KHULNA, July 31, 2020 (BSS) – The total number of recovered coronavirus (COVID-19) patients rose to 7,139 with healing of 321 more people in last 24 hour till today’s noon among a total of 11,833 infected people in Khulna division.

“The recovery rate stands at 61.26 percent now,” Assistant Director (Health) for Khulna division Dr. Ferdousi Akhter told BSS today.

The district-wise numbers of recovered patients are 2,660 in Khulna, 1,103 in Kushtia, 1037 in Jashore, 476 in Narail, 414 in Bagerhat, 413 in Jhenaidah, 347 in Satkhira, 298 in Chuadanga, 290 in Magura and 101 in Meherpur districts in the division.

Dr. Ferdousi added the total number of COVID-19 patients rose to 11,833 with 314 new positive cases reported after testing 382 samples at the respective COVID-19 laboratories in Khulna division in the last 24 hours till this noon.

The health officials said the newly detected COVID-19 patients are 53 in Khulna, 17 in Kushtia, 43 in Jhenaidah, 29 in Chuadanga, 20 in Magura, 26 in Bagerhat, 52 in Jashore, 32 in Meherpur, 8 in Magura and 34 in Satkhira districts in the division.

With the two more deaths including one in Khulna and one in Bagerhat, the total number of fatalities now reached 213 in the division.

““The district-wise break-up of the fatalities remains at 69 in Khulna, 33 in Kushtia, 24 in Jashore, 22 in Satkhira, 16 in Jhenaidah, 13 in Bagerhat, 11 in Narail, eight in Magura, seven in Meherpur and 10 in Chuadanga districts in the division,” she added.

Currently, the fatality rate stands at over 1.85 percent in the division.

Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana said comprehensive steps have been taken to inspire the people in abiding by the health directives to prevent COVID-19 spread and provide health services to the infected patients to face the situation.
