New Navy chief calls on President

DHAKA, July 28, 2020 (BSS) – New Chief of Naval Staff Vice-Admiral
Mohammad Shaheen Iqbal made a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid
at Bangabhaban here this evening.

Welcoming the new naval chief, President Hamid expressed his
satisfaction over the naval force activities and their professional
performance in safeguarding the country’s maritime boundary and
protecting marine resources as well.

President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS after the call on.

Noting that the naval force, in the meantime, turned into a
three-dimensional force, the President said, the incumbent government
has taken various pragmatic steps in line with the Forces Goal-2030 to
build this force as smart, strong and efficient one.

Abdul Hamid hoped that the Bangladesh Navy would be more modern and
stronger one with acquiring technology-based knowledge in the days to
come under his leadership.

The President, also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces,
assured the navy chief of his continued cooperation in discharging
duties as the new naval chief sought directives and cooperation from
him.

The President wished the Navy chief’s success in the days to come.
Secretaries concerned to the President were also present.
