Palak urges Google to give chance to BD youths in its development

DHAKA, June 21, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak today urged Google for giving chance to the Bangladeshi talented youths so that they can contribute to Google’s product development activities.

He requested Google to introduce special internet package facilities for students and provide opportunities for talented Bangladeshi youths for Google’s product development including ‘Augmented Reality Solution Develop’, said an ICT press release.

The state minister made the call in an online platform while he was addressing the closing ceremony of Google Map’s ‘Bangladesh Challenge’ programme organized by Grameenphone and Access to Information (A2i), the release added.

Referring to the fact that Google has already added Bengali language facility in Google Map, he said that after cities and sub-cities, the youths of the country have added village establishments and roads to Google Map.

Grameenphone Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yasir Azman, Bangladesh Scouts President Abul Kalam Azad, a2i Policy Adviser Anir Chowdhury and Preneur Lab CEO Arif Nezami also joined the programme online, among others.

During the time, Palak also announced the names of top 100 mappers at the event.
