14-party urges affluent to help poor, destitute during crisis
DHAKA, March 27, 2020 (BSS) – The 14-party alliance today called upon the affluent section of the society to help poor and destitute people during the crisis period triggered by the coronavirus outbreak prompting the government to declare the 10-day general holidays.
“Let us stand by wage earners and those who lead a hand to mouth life during the crisis period,” said a joint statement of the alliance issued here today.
The 14-party alliance spokesperson and Awami League Presidium member Mohammed Nasim, Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President Hasanul Haq Inu, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Jatiya Party (JP) General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, AL Central Working Committee member Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram and Bangladesh Tariqat Federation Chairman Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari singed the statement, among others.
The alliance also urged the party leaders and workers to help the poor and destitute people.
