Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari calls for spreading Sufi messages for global harmony

DHAKA, Feb 22, 2020 (BSS) – Incumbent leader of Maizbhandar Darbar Syed
Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari has called for greater Sufi unity to disseminate
their humanitarian messages across the world for global peace and harmony as
a three-day international Sufi conference was wrapped up in Turkey, a
Maizbhandar statement said here today.

“Sufism is the main essence of Islam. Over the centuries Sufi saints
have been preaching the true message of holy Prophet (PBUH) which carries the
supreme ideologies of selfless love, tolerance, peace, harmony and humanity,”
the statement quoted him as saying.

Ahmed, also the Parliament of World Sufis president, said the role of
Sufis reappeared to be more crucial in the president day when the world
witnesses a difficult time for distressed humanity.

“Innocents are being killed and ruthlessly oppressed, persecuted and
humiliated in many corners of the globe,” he told the 9th International
Conference on Sufism and World Peace 2020″ as a special guest in Istanbul.

The event drew top Islamic scholars, leaders, Sufi personalities and
diplomats from 50 countries and organisations while Turkish Sufi scholar Syed
Mohammad Al Hussainy was in the chair.

Saifuddin said humanitarian message of Sufism had to be spread worldwide
to establish global peace, stability and mutual coexistence of different
faiths.

He said Muslim leaders should now needed to look beyond their personal
agendas and seek unity to restore the rights of Muslims and save innocents
from oppressors in regions like Palestine, Syria, Kashmir, Myanmar, China and
Yemen.

Saifuddin also urged the United Nations, OIC, Arab League and world
leaders to ensure safe and dignified repatriation of Rohingyas to their
homeland.
