5 Bangladeshis infected with Coronavirus in Singapore: Momen

DHAKA, Feb 19, 2020 (BSS) – Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today said
a total of five Bangladeshi people, infected with Coronavirus, are now
undergoing treatment at a Singaporean hospital.

“Five Coronavirus infected Bangladeshis have been hospitalised. Of them,
one is in critical stage and he is currently receiving treatment at Incentive
Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital,” he said this morning here quoting the
telephone conversation between him and his Singaporean counterpart Dr Vivian
Balakrishnan.

One Bangladeshi citizen, who has been in ICU for the last 13 days, has
long been suffering from Pneumonia and Kindney related diseases, Balakrishnan
informed the foreign minister Momen, according to a press release.

Praising the treatment given by Singaporean hospital to Bangladeshis, Dr
Momen said the Singapore government is very conscious about the health
condition of the Bangladeshi people as they are receiving time-befitting
treatment there, it added.

As the Coronavirus is contagious, he said Singapore government is also
remained observant about the infected Bangladeshis so that the diseases
cannot be spread to other Bangladeshi expatriates.
