PCB wants Bangladesh to play Test series in Pakistan

DHAKA, Jan 8, 2020 (BSS)-The Pakistan Cricket Board (CCB) wants
Bangladesh to play the two-match Test series first before taking part in the
three-match T20 series latter in convenient time.

The PCB’s proposal came in the wake of Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB)
decision to play the T20 series first. Because the Test series is the part of
ICC World Test Championship, the PCB emphasized more on it, said the BCB
president Nazmul Hassan Papon.

”We asked them to arrange T20 series only for the time being but today
they proposed us to play Test matches instead of it. They said they will play
the T20 bilateral series before the World T20,” Papon said here today.

”We informed them that we wanted to play three T20s first and return
home. We told them that we might tour Pakistan later on to play the Tests if
we manage to reschedule the tour. But they are more interested in hosting
Tests as it is part of ICC Test Championship. They said they have no problem
of hosting three T20s later on,” he added.

But the BCB is yet to make any decision on it, Papon revealed. ”We are
yet to make final decision on that. I hope we will take the final decision
tomorrow. Lots of things are involved in it,” he remarked.

Bangladesh is scheduled to tour Pakistan in January-February for a
three-match T20 and two-match Test series, which is part of the World Test
Championship.

Earlier, The BCB had proposed them to host the Test series in a neutral
venue, while they were willing to send their team for the three-match T20
series in Pakistan.

In reply PCB had stated that they won’t compromise with it after BCB
send the proposal as they were unwilling to play their home series in a
neutral venue.
