118 police officers get awards on Police Week
DHAKA, Jan 5, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 118 police officials were given awards in four categories for their outstanding contribution to maintaining the law and order in the society.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina distributed the awards among them at a function marking the Police Week 2020 at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the city.
Of them, 14 received Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-gallantry) while 28 got BPM (Service), 20 secured President Police Medal (PPM-gallantry) and 56 awarded PPM (service).
BPM (posthumous) was given to ASI Md Akhter Hossain of Highway Police, Cumilla Region.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Dr Benazir Ahmed, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Banaj Kumar Majumder, Khulna Range DIG Dr Kh Mahid Uddin, RAB Additional Director General Colonel Tofayel Mostafa Sarwar and Additional DIG of Police Headquarters Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan are among the awardees.
