DHAKA, Dec 10, 2019 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today opined that ‘Joy
Bangla’ should be used as national slogan at the beginning and end of all the
state programmes including the Victory Day and Independence Day.
A High Court (HC) division bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and
Justice KM Kamrul Kader came up with the observations while hearing a rule
issued earlier in this regard.
The High Court said the slogan must be used in every speech made at state
programmes from coming December 16. The court has directed the state using
the slogan at the beginning and end of every state programmes,” Deputy
Attorney General ABM Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar told newsmen.
The court has set January 14 to hold further hearing in this regard.
Earlier on December 4, 2017, the High Court had issued the rule, asking
authorities concerned to explain as to why it shall not pass order to declare
Joy Bangla as national slogan.
