Water levels of 49 rivers rise, 39 fall

DHAKA, Aug 2, 2017 (BSS) – Water levels at 49 river stations monitored by The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked increase while 39 stations recorded fall.

Among the 90 monitored water level stations, two river stations have been registered steady while water level at two river stations are flowing above danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The Kobadak river at Jhikargacha and the Kangsha at Jariajanjail are flowing above danger level 26 cm and 6 cm respectively.

Significant rainfall was recorded at some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.

A total of 147 millimetres (mm) rainfall was recorded at Sunamganj, 120mm at Durgapur, 102 mm at Kanaighat, 80mm at Nakuagaon, 70mm at Lorergarh, 55mm at Bhirab Bazar, 54mm at Dalia and 45.5 mm at Chilmari.
