One gets life in C’nawabanj drug case
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, May 7, 2019 (BSS)- A court here today sentenced a young man to life term imprisonment in a drug case.
The court also fined him of Taka one lakh, in default to suffer one year more in jail, court official said.
Chapainawabganj additional district and session judge Md. Shawkat Ali gave the verdict in presence of the convict.
The convicted person is Md. Fatik Ali, 31, son of Md. Yahia of Goaldubi village under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.
According to the prosecution story, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested Fatik with 2 kg 100 grams of heroin from Alimnagar area under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on February 18, 2018.
Sub-inspector Mostakim Hossain of RAB-5 filed a case against Fatik with Chapainawabganj sadar thana next day.
Sub-inspector Rony Saha of Chapainawabganj sadar thana submitted charge sheet against Fatik to the court on March 22, 2018. After hearing the witnesses, the court handed down the punishment.
