CCDM upholds points penalty against Brothers Union
DHAKA, April 7, 2019 (BSS)-The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) has upheld the decision of the match referee to award full two points to Mohammedan Sporting Club from their Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match against Brothers Union held at the BKSP Ground 4 on April 2.
The decision was taken at CCDM’s technical committee meeting on Saturday.
The decision to award the match was taken in light of Brothers Union’s refusal to play after resumption following a rain interruption as per the clause of the Match Playing Condition of DPL.
The clause states that a match shall be deemed lost by a side ‘which in the opinion of the BCB Match Referee refuses to play and the BCB Match Referee shall award the match to the other side.’
An official reprimand has also been issued against Brothers Union as per the provisions in the Match Playing Condition.
