Sub-regional 48th winter sports competitions begin in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Jan 20, 2019 (BSS) – The day-long 48th Regional School, Madrasa
and Vocational Education Winter Games and Sports Competitions- 2019 were held
at Rangpur Zila School ground here today.
The Rangpur Regional School, Madrasa and Vocational Education Sports
Association with assistance of the National School and Madrasa Sports
Association and Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education organised the
games and sports competitions.
Earlier, the three-day (January 17-19) 48th Sub-regional School, Madrasa
and Vocational Education Winter Games and Sports Competitions-2019 were held
at the same venue.
Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Joynul Bari inaugurated the group-wise
games and sports competitions by releasing balloons in the morning and
distributed prizes among the winners in the afternoon as the chief guest.

Association and Regional Deputy Director of the Directorate of Secondary and
Higher Education Professor Dr AKM Sirajul Islam presided over the inaugural
and concluding functions.

Professor Abu Bakar Siddique, District Sports Officer Ferdous Rahman,
Headmaster of Rangpur Zila School Abu Raihan Md Mizanur Rahman and
Headmistress of Rangpur Government Girls’ High School Farida Yasmin were
present as special guests.
All eight District Education Officers from Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari,
Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha districts under
Rangpur division were present, among others.
The students of Rangpur Government Girls’ High School, Rangpur Government
Shishu Paribar (Girls), RCCI School and College and Rangpur Shishu Niketon
School exhibited colourful physical displays in the inaugural ceremony.
The champion teams with the student-sportspersons from eight districts
under Rangpur division participated in different events of the three-day long
48th Sub-regional and day-long Regional Games and Sports Competitions in the
divisional city.
The events are: Cricket (Boys and Girls), Volleyball (Boys and Girls),
Hockey ((Boys and Girls), Athletics ((Boys and Girls), Table Tennis-Single
((Boys and Girls), Table Tennis-Doubles (Boys and Girls), Badminton-Singe
((Boys and Girls) and Badminton- Doubles ((Boys and Girls).
