Meeting on bio-pesticide held in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, Dec 8, 2018 (BSS) – A two-day training on ‘Insect and Disease
Management of Fruits and Vegetables through Bio-pesticide’ began at the
conference room of Regional Agriculture Research Station (RARS) in the
district town today.
Director of Planning and Evaluation of Bangladesh Agriculture Research
Institute (BARI), Gazipur Dr Syed Nurul Alam inaugurated the training as the
chief guest.
Chief Scientific Officer of RARS Dr Apurba Kanti Chowdhury presided over
the inaugural function while Chief Scientific Officer of Entomology
Department, BARI Dr Devashish Sarker, Deputy Director of DAE, Sherpur Ashraf
Uddin and Principal Scientific Officer of RARS Dr Md Abdul Mannan spoke at
the meeting.
A total of 70 persons including senior scientific officer, sub-assistant
agriculture officers and scientific assistants of Department of Agriculture
Extension (DAE) and RARS of Jamalpur and Sherpur districts are taking part in
the training.
Besides, about 140 farmers of the two districts are also taking training in
the event.
