14-party, 24 parties dialogue begins

DHAKA, Nov 7, 2018 (BSS) – A dialogue between the 14-party alliance and 24
political parties began at Ganobhaban here this evening.

The dialogue, over the upcoming national election, between the 14-party and
the 24 parties kicked off around 7:30 pm at the Banquet Hall of the
Ganobhaban, an official familiar with Ganobhaban said.

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is leading a 23-
member delegation of the 14-party alliance at the dialogue.

The parties are the National Democratic Alliance, Bangladesh National
Alliance (BNA), Bangladesh Social Development Party (BSDP), Bangladesh
Gonotantrik Oikya Front, NAP Bhashani, National Peoples Party (NPP),
Bangladesh National Democratic Front (NDF), Jukta Front, Gano Front,
Prgogotishil Jote, Bangladesh Gonotantrik Mukti Andolan (BGMA), Jatiyo
Ganotantrik Jote (NDA), Bangladesh Satyabrata Andolan, Oikya NAP, Okyaboddho
Nagorik Andolan, Gonotantrik Bam Oikya, Bangladesh Krishak Shramik Party
(KSP), Progotishil Gonotantrik Dal (PDP), Bangladesh Muktojoddha Oikya Jote,
Bangladesh Gonotantrik Oikya Jotr, Trinamool Jatiyatabadi Gonotantrik
Andolan, Jatiya Swadhinata Party (JSP), Bangladesh Jatiya Party and
Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote.

The much-anticipated dialogue began on November 1 with the talks between
the 14-party alliance and Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Front (JOF).

The second round of the talks between the 14-party and the JOF was held at
Ganobhaban this morning.

Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Jukta Front sat for the dialogue on
November 2, the leaders of 14-party on November 4, and HM Ershad-led United
National Alliance (UNA) on November 5.

The 14-party alliance held talks with 12 prominent Islamic parties and the
Left Democratic Alliance (LDA), a component of eight leftist parties, on
November 6.

While briefing reporters at Ganobhaban on November 6, Awami League General
Secretary Obaidul Quader said that their party will not hold any dialogue
after November 7.
