Seminar on community clinic held at JU

SAVAR, Oct 7, 2018 (BSS) – A seminar titled ‘Evaluation of Health Service
Delivery by the Community Health Clinics of Bangladesh’ was held at the
seminar room of Public Administration Department at Jahangirnagar University
(JU) here today.

A PhD researcher Sabina Yeasmin presented a keynote paper on the topic at
the seminar with supervisor of the research and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of
Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Prof Dr M Abul Kashem Mozumder
in the chair.

Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nazmul
Ahsan Kalimullah, Chairman of JU Public Administration Department and
Associate Professor Dr Jebunnessa and Assistant Professor of the department
Manir Uddin Sikder were, among others, present at the seminar.

In her keynote paper, Sabina said the community clinics are playing an
important role in reaching healthcare services at grassroots level and
improving health conditions of marginal people.

The community clinics are also contributing to reduction of infant and
maternal mortality rate in the country, she added.

However, she suggested ensuring health service delivery in the community
clinics by a medical officer.

Around 100 teachers and students of JU Public Administration Department
took part in the seminar.
