People getting benefits of massive developments

RANGPUR, Oct 04, 2018 (BSS) – The common people are getting benefits of
massive developments implemented by the present government in every sector to
improve their life standard in last ten years.

The observation came today at a post-rally discussion arranged by the
district administration at launching ceremony of the fourth three-day
National Development Fair-2018 on Public Library ground in the city.

Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair here through a
videoconferencing from Ganabhaban in the capital city as elsewhere at all
district and upazila headquarters across the country.

The fair is being arranged for showcasing the government’s massive
developments and successes to the grassroots level people as the country has
already achieved the criteria to become a developing nation.

Earlier, a huge colourful rally with participation of officials, public
representatives, political leaders and workers, students, teachers, socio-
cultural and professional activists and civil society members was brought out
on the city streets.

Around 101 government and non-governmental organisations, institutions,
business bodies, industries and private bodies have set up 127 stalls on the
fair to showcase their respective innovations and development achievements in
last ten years.

Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Joynal Bari attended the discussion as
the chief guest with Deputy Director (Local Government) for Rangpur Ruhul
Amin Mian in the chair.

Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Devas Bhattacharya,
Additional Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Mohammad Abu
Sufian, Additional District Magistrate Rashedul Monnaf Kabir, Professor Shah
Alam and Office Secretary of district Awami League Tauhidur Rahman Tutul
addressed as special guests.

Assistant Professor of the Department of Accounting and Information
Systems of Begum Rokeya University Umar Faruk delivered keynote presentation
on “Ten special initiatives of the Prime Minister and Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs)” in the discussion.

He narrated positive impacts of successful implementation of the Prime
Minister’s 10 special initiatives and the government’s massive developments
on life standard of the people and national economy.

The speakers discussed international recognitions, successes and awards
achieved by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, information technologies,
Bangabandhu Satellite, mega projects, economic zones, hi-tech parks, Visions
2021 and 2041 and other achievements of the present government.

They highlighted various epoch-making programmes of the present
government and successes achieved in implementing MDGs and inspiring the
people to attain the SDGs for building a middle income nation by 2021 and
developed Bangladesh by 2041.

Highlighting the massive developments achieved by the present government
in last ten years, the chief guest said the industrious efforts of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina have accelerated national progress taking the country
on the highway of development.

He called upon everyone to work sincerely with utmost dedication and
patriotic zeal to build a happy and developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ free from hunger
and exploitation as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman.
