DHAKA, Oct 3, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif today said there is no alternative to the victory of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the forthcoming parliamentary elections to keep on the current development spree.

“Astonishing development has taken place in every sector of the country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina… The development works have been praised at home and abroad. It has been possible only for her dynamism and honesty,” he said, speaking at a rally in front of Pir Yeameni market in city’s Gulistan.

Earlier, Hanif distributed leaflets in the area on the third day of AL’s week-long mass contact programme for showcasing the development works of the government as well as the scenario of terrorism and violence of BNP-Jamaat.

AL Organizing Secretaries AFM Bahauddin Nasim, MP, and AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and Forests and Environment Affairs Secretary Delowar Hossain, among others, spoke in the rally with local AL leader Monowar Hossain Manu in the chair.

Hanif said the national election will be held as per the democratic process. “The people will elect candidates of their choice through voting… But, in our country, a vested quarter begins conspiracies when the election comes.”

The AL leader said those who made the country world champion in corruption, militant’s hideout and were convicted by the court for stealing the money of orphans have begun their conspiracy centering the upcoming national polls.

Besides, there are some irresponsible and opportunist leaders who become active when the polls come. They begin conspiracy against the elections come. They want to bring an unconstitutional government by creating an unstable situation in the country, Hanif said.

“I urge all of you to remain alert against those people,” he added.

The ruling party leader said, “We will have to face all types of conspiracies by electing the ‘Boat’, electoral symbol of Awami League, under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the forthcoming polls.”
