Liton intends to restore Rajshahi’s lost-beauty
RAJSHAHI, Sept 28, 2018 (BSS)- Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC)
AHM Khairuzzaman Liton expressed his intention to restore the lost-beauty of
the city first.
“I want to regain the previous image of green and clean city through making
it eye-catching one on a priority basis,” he asserted while addressing a
reception meeting at RDA market in Rajshahi city yesterday evening.
RDA Market Business Association accorded reception to Liton for his
landslide victory in the last July 30 mayoral election in RCC election.
Chaired by the association president Farid Mahmud Hassan, the meeting was
addressed, among others, by Freedom Fighter Prof Ruhul Amin Pramanik, local
unit president of Bangabandhu Parishad Ariful Haque, Editor of Daily Sonali
Sangbad Liakat Ali and former students’ adviser of Rajshahi University Prof
Golam Sabbir Sattar.
Liton said a total of 9,364 people have, so far, got household gas
connections in Rajshahi city since June, 2013 and 21,000 others applied for
the connection.
He told the meeting that necessary process of giving them the gas
connection will start very soon.
Narrating his planning of the city’s development Mayor Lition said he is
committed to generating employment opportunities for one lakh unemployed
people. He is also pledged bound to build Rajshahi as a prosperous, modern
and developed city.
Liton pledged to expedite industrialization process in the city and its
outskirts.
He said implementation of Bangabandhu Hi-tech Park here is progressing
fast and employment scopes for more than 14,000 youths will be created after
its successful completion.
“I have plans of setting up a five star hotel, BKSP, cricket venue,
agricultural university and heart foundation in the city,” he said.
