Landmine kills 4, injures 1 in Myanmar’s northernmost state
YANGON, Sept 26, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – Four people were killed and one was
injuired in a landslide near a jade mine in Myanmar’s Hpakant mining region,
Kachin state, said a release from the Home Affairs Ministry on Wednesday.
The landslide occurred on Tuesday due to the collapse of a 9.14-meter high
pit wall of an unused jade mining site in Tharyar Kone village in the region.
An investigation on the landslide is underway by the local authorities.
