JAMALPUR, September, 24, 2018(BSS) – Food Department has launched
programme to sell low priced rice among poor people in the district.
District Food Controller office sources said, under the programme a total
of 1,45,182 poor people in the district will get rice at Tk. 10 per kilogram.
The office said 32,263 poor people in Jamalpur sadar upazila, 19,049
people in Sarishabari, 19,209 people in Dewanganj, 23,025 people in Islampur,
21,286 people in Melandaha, 17,011 people in Madarganj and 13,339 people in
Bakshiganj upazilas will get low priced rice under the programme.
District Food Controller, Md Mahbubur Rahman Khan said the programme will
continue from September to October this year and total 4,355.460 tonnes of
rice will be required in every month.
