RMP remain active against militancy: officials

RAJSHAHI, Dec 5, 2017 (BSS) – Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) officials said law enforcers remain active against militancy, terrorism and drug- addiction for maintaining peace and harmony in the society.

They came up with the statement in a meeting organised by RMP at its conference hall here yesterday.

Additional Inspector General of Police (Special Branch) Dr Jabed Patwary attended the meeting as the chief guest with RMP Commissioner Mahbubor Rahman in the chair.

Additional Commissioner Sarder Tamij Uddin Ahmed and Deputy Commissioners Tanvir Haider Chowdhury, AKM Nahidul Islam, Amir Zafar, Abdullah Al Mamun and Hemayetul Islam also spoke.

The meeting discussed the ways to combat all sorts of criminal activities, putting emphasis on boosting community participation for freeing the society from crimes.

Dr Jabed Patwary called for increasing intelligence vigilance along the border area to address suspected militant activities.

He laid stress on expediting the ongoing drives against drug addiction and its trafficking and smuggling.

He said crime-free society must be ensured at any cost to protect people and the young generation in particular from the consequences of deadly aggression of crimes.

To attain the cherished goal, the law enforcing agencies and community people should have to work together, Patwary added.
