Community Clinic Trust Bill, 2018 placed in parliament

SANGSAD BHABAN, Sept 18, 2018 (BSS) – The Community Clinic Trust Bill, 2018 was placed in the parliament with a view to ensuring sustainable and integrated healthcare services in the rural areas.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today placed the bill in the House with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Piloting the bill, the minister said the enactment of the law will give a permanent shape of the community health care system and it will reach the primary health care services to the doorsteps of the rural people.

Introducing the bill, he said the proposed law will help ensure constitution of a community health care trust with the support from private organizations and individual person along with the government.

The headquarter of the organization will be established at Dhaka and its branch offices will be established at anywhere in the country, if necessary with the permission of the government.

Later, the minister urged the House to send the bill at the parliamentary standing committee for providing report within a day.
