JP to announce programmes over polls on Oct 6: Ershad
DHAKA, Sept 8, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad today said his party will announce programmes over the forthcoming national election from a grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city on October 6.
“We will hold the rally with the participation of tens of thousands of people,” he said in his presidential speech at a joint meeting of the party on the premises of Institution of Engineers in the city.
Grassroots level and central leaders and activists of the party joined the meeting, said a press release here.
JP Senior Co-Chairman Raushan Ershad, Co-Chairman GM Quader, Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader and Presidium Member Anisul Islam Mahmud addressed the meeting, among others.
Urging the party men to participate in the rally, Ershad said, “We have gained strength, we are now prepared to go to power.”
He urged the party leaders to strengthen the party by forming committees at their respective areas.
“After going to power, we will eliminate terrorism, killing, anarchy, corruption and politics of violence from the country. We will build a country of harmony,” the JP chairman said.
Addressing the meeting, Raushan Ershad, the leader of the opposition in parliament, said, “We will build a terrorism-free country and ensure quality education for all”.
She urged the party leaders and activists to project the JP’s development activities before the youths.
