Inclusive business incorporation can alleviate social problems: seminar

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2018 (BSS) – Speakers at a seminar have said inclusive
business incorporation can be an effective tool to alleviate social problems.

They said this at a seminar jointly organised by SNV Netherlands
Development Organisation, Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(DBCCI) and Social Responsibility (SR) Asia in the capital yesterday.

Southeast University supported the seminar as institutional partner, a
BDCCI press release said today.

DBCCI President Faruque Hassan spoke at the seminar as the chief guest with
Country Director of SR Asia Bangladesh Sumaya Rashid as the moderator. Jason
Belanger, Country Director of SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, and
Dr ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University, also spoke as
special guests.

The seminar was organised to acknowledge the changing paradigm of business
in Bangladesh and provide a platform to discuss the current issues and
developments related to inclusive business.

The objectives of the seminar include sharing and discussing ideas on how
the state, development partners, corporate and universities can collaborate
to provide an enabling environment to solve social challenges.

Zahedul Amin, Director-Strategy of Light Castle Partners, presented a
keynote paper on inclusive business.
