COMILLA, Nov 6, 2017 (BSS)-Two people were killed and four others were injured in a road accident in Mobarakpur area on Dhaka-Chittagong highway under Daudkandi upazila of the district last night.
The deceased were identified as Russell Mia, 27, an auto-rickshaw driver of Bitman village of the upazila and Abu Mia, 60, a farmer of the same village.
Police sources said the accident occurred in the area around 8:30pm when a Sonapur-bound Himachal Paribahan bus from Dhaka hits them as they were crossing the road leaving two persons dead on the spot and four others injured.
The injured were admitted to Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex.
Police seized the bus but its driver managed to flee the scene, the sources added.
A case was filed in this connection.
