UK keen to invest more in Bangladesh: Rushanara

DHAKA, July 23 (BSS) – British Parliament Member and British Prime Minister’s trade envoy to Bangladesh Rushanara Ali today said the United Kingdom (UK) investors’ are keen to invest more in Bangladesh as the demand for Bangladeshi products in British market is growing high.

“Bangladesh is moving forward quickly and the UK is very satisfied for Bangladesh’s development. Britain is a major development partner of Bangladesh,” she said.

The British parliament member said this while meeting with Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Bangladesh Investment and Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Kazi Aminul Islam at his office in the city, said a press release.

They discussed various bilateral issues, including investment and trade opportunities.

During the meeting, Aminul Islam said Bangladesh is the best friend of the UK and it is the third export market of the country. “Bangladesh enjoys duty-free and quota-free opportunities,” he added.

He hoped that the trade relations between the two countries will further increase in future.
