RAJSHAHI, April 19, 2021 (BSS) – During separate anti-crime drives, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four alleged drug peddlers with yaba tablets and heroin from different areas in the region last night, RAB sources said here today.
The arrested were identified as Bahadur Gedu, 65, Rubel Shah, 30, Monjurul Islam, 35, and Shariful Islam, 25.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid in Shamsadipur area under Katakhali Police Station in Rajshahi and arrested Bahadur Gedu with 1,000 pieces of tablets red-handed.
Another RAB team arrested Shariful Islam with 1.02 kilograms of heroin after conducting a raid in Amnura area under Sadar Upazila in Chapinawabganj district.
The elite force members also arrested Monjurul Islam with 575 grams of heroin from Mohanpur area under Matihar Police Station and Rubel Shah with 59 grams of heroin from Jamira village under Belpukur Police Station.
Four separate cases were recorded with the police stations concerned and the arrested persons were handed over to police today.
