AL pays tributes to Bangabandhu on Mujibnagar Day

DHAKA, April 17, 2021 (BSS) – The ruling Awami League, its associate bodies, political and social organizations today paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the historic Mujibnagar Day.

Tributes were paid to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait on Bangabandhu Bhaban premises at Dhanmondi road number 32 here this morning.

The programme was arranged on a limited scale by maintaining health guidelines in the wake of the second wave of coronavirus pandemic.

At first, on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, AL senior leaders paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait.

Later, on behalf of AL, party’s senior leaders led by its General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu.

AL Presidium Member Begum Matia Chowdhury, Information and Broadcasting Minister and AL Joint General Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretaries Ahmed Hossain, BM Mozammel Haque, Mirza Azam, Afzal Hossain and Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur and Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua were present, among others.

Awami Jubo League, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Awami Swechchhasebak League, Krishak League, Jatiya Sramik League and AL’s different units and associate bodies paid tributes to Bangabandhu on the occasion of the historic Mujibnagar Day.
