13 people, shopkeepers fined Tk 79,000 for breaching safety rules of Covid-19 in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, APRIL, 17, 2021 (BSS)- Mobile courts of the district administration filed 13 cases against the same number of people and shopkeepers and realized Taka79,000 as fine from them for breaching the safety rules of Covid -19 in the district yesterday.

At the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) and also district magistrate Abdul Matin, the courts led by executive magistrates of the administration conducted the drives at important and crowded places including, Shapla Mill, Dholbhanga and Thutiapukur, Tulshighat, Khandakar intersection, Trimohini, Badiakhali Bazar areas of the district and fined Taka 79,000 from people and shop keepers for breaching the safety rules of Covid -19.

The executive magistrates also distributed masks to the poor and the helpless people free of cost and created them aware about the deadly virus (Covid-19). They also urged the people not to go outside during the lockdown unnecessarily.

SM Foyes Uddin, an executive magistrate, told BSS that the people were fined for not wearing masks and moving without any reason during the lockdown. On the other hand, the shopkeepers were fined for opening their shops violating the lockdown rules, he added.

The drives of the mobile courts would continue until the situation became normal, Foyes Uddin further said.
