JAMALPUR, April 12, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Information and
Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan has taken the responsibility for the
study of another medical student.
After Sumon, a meritorious student of Sarishabari municipal area,
the state minister took the responsibility of Mohammad Ali Jinnah of
Swadhinabari village under Sarishabari Upazila.
From the personal fund of Murad Hasan, a cheque for financial
support was handed over to Jinnah today for his admission to a medical
college, a ministry press release said.
Sarishabari Upazila Parishad chairman Bir Muktijoddha Gias Uddin
Pathan, upazila executive officer Shihab Uddin Ahmed, Jamalpur
District Awami League deputy office secretary Zahurul Islam Manik and
project implementation officer Humayun Kabir were, among others,
present.
Councilor Sakhawat Alam Mukul attended the function on behalf of
Murad Hassan.
Sumon’s father Mintu and Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s father Sultan are
day labourers. Sumon got chance to get admission to Shaheed Ziaur
Rahman Medical College in Bagura, while Mohammad Ali Jinnah to
Chittagong Medical College in the academic year 2020-21. But they were
in deep concern whether they would be able to get admitted to medical
colleges due to financial crisis.
Murad said it can never happen that two poor meritorious students –
Sumon and Mohammad Ali Jinnah – of his constituency would not be able
to get admitted to medical colleges for lack of money.
He said primarily Taka 20,000 was handed over to the families of
the each of the two medical admission seekers and later he would
personally provide all-out support for their study.
