Ramadan price hike trend must stop: Khaleque

KHULNA, April 11, 2021 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque here today said the price hike of daily essentials should stop ahead of the holy month of Ramadan as the supply of essential commodities is adequate.

“We will arrange to open depot for hoarding raw materials and essential commodities come from outside during lockdown and monitoring team will watch kitchen markets regularly to prevent dishonest traders who are creating artificial crisis ahead of holy Ramadan,” he said while addressing the monthly law and order committee meeting held at the deputy commissioner’s conference room as chief guest.

Chaired by Khulna deputy commissioner Md Helal Hossain, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by superintendent of police Md Mahbub Hasan, civil surgeon Dr Niaz Mohammad, director of Islamic Foundation Shaheen-Bib-Zaman.

Deputy commissioner Md Helal Hossain asked to shut all coaching and education centers. He also requested law enforcement high officials to be alert against drug traders.

Additional district magistrate Md Yousuf Ali in his welcome address presented the present law and order situation in the city and upazilas of Khulna through power presentation.
