DHAKA, July 17, 2018 (BSS) – Religious Affairs Secretary Md Anisur
Rahman today urged the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) to
immediately ensure catering services as well as tickets of plane for ensuring
visas for aspirant hajis.

“We face problems of air tickets and renting houses in Makka and Madina
. . . Many don’t buy ticket due to their failure in renting houses, but I
request you all to buy ticket and then rent the rooms,” he told owners of the
hajj agencies in a meeting in a secretariat here.

He categorically said there are many scopes to rent houses in Makka and
Modena.

The ministry has no intention to push the HAAB into trouble, Anisur
said, adding “Everybody must follow the rules and regulations.”

He said, “The hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi Airlines
will end respectively on August 15 and August 17 while air ticket will be
available from July 17 to August 2. If anybody fails to purchase air ticket
within this stipulated timeframe, he or she won’t be able to go for hajj.”

In the meeting, the secretary enquired about the registration of Hajj
pilgrims, renting houses, catering bookings and air tickets seperately

A total of 126,798 pilgrims are expected to perform hajj this year. The
hajj flight operation started on July 14.
