GAIBANDHA, March 09, 2021 (BSS) – The International Women’s Day was
observed in the district as elsewhere of the country and globe yesterday with
a call to establish a nondiscriminatory and equitable society to take the
nation ahead.
This year’s theme of the day was “Women in leadership, achieving an equal
future in Covid-19 world”.
Marking the day, a project, on Action for Socio-Economic Security and
Rights for Excluded and Marginalized Women and Girls funded by Manusher jonno
Foundation, chalked out the elaborate programmes.
The programmes of the project being implemented by SKS Foundation included
forming human chain and holding rally.
A discussion meeting was also held at the auditorium of Boali Union
Parishad (UP) under Sadar upazila at noon with UP chairman AM Mazed Uddin
Khan in the chair.
Md. Nasir Uddin, Sadar upazila social services officer, addressed the
function as the chief guest.
The function was also addressed, among others, by UP member Firoz Kabir and
project manager Mst. Lovely Khatun.
