Three held with 15.50-kg ganja in Rangpur

RANGPUR, March 4, 2021 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) seized 15.50
kg of smuggled ganja, a maize-laden truck and other goods and arrested three
presumed drug traders from Kadamtala (Mirbag) area in Kawnia upazila of the
district last night.

“Acting on secret information, an operational team of RAB-13 set up a check
post and searched the suspected maize-laden truck and arrested the three
persons with smuggled ganja and other goods,” a press release said today.

The elite force also seized four mobile phone sets and cash money from the
possessions of the arrested persons during the raid.

The arrested presumed drug traders are Jahurul Haque Litan, 39, of Pabna,
Jewell Rana, 36, of Tangail and Nur Alam, 20, of Lalmonirhat districts.

During primary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted that they had
been involved in drug trading for a long time.

After filing a case in this connection, the elite force handed over the
arrested drug traders to Kawnia police station in Rangpur, the release added.
