5 punished for selling adulterated medicine in Shibganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Feb 26, 2021 (BSS)- A mobile court of Rapid Action
Battalion (RAB) has convicted five persons for selling adulterated medicine
in Shibganj upazila of the district.

The court awarded four persons six months jail and also fined them Tk.
10,000 each, in default, they will have to suffer more 15 days in prison.

Another one person was also fined Tk. 5,000 for the same allegation.

The court conducted a drive on Thursday evening and found them guilty in
selling adulterated medicine.

The jail-term awardees are – Md. Dohimun Ali, 26, son of late Abdul Malek
of Kachipur village under Gomostapur upazila, Md. Amirul Islam, 35, son of
Md. Nurul Islam of Dharichatra village, Md. Motahar Ali, 50, son of late
Nurul Islam Jhatu of the same village and Md. Rubel, 30, son of Md. Tanu of
Chakharipur village.

Apart from this, one Md. Abdur Rahim, 18, son of Md. Sirajul Islam of
Kansat Baganpara village was also fined.

RAB said, the court led by executive magistrate Md. Sakib-Al-Rabbi and
assistant director of Drug Administration Fuara Yasmin conducted the raid at
Chakkirti Bazar and found that the convicted persons were selling adulterated
medicines.
