CHATTOGRAM, Jan 24, 2021 (BSS) – The total number of recovered patients from coronavirus rose to 30,465 in the district with the healing of 45 more people in the last 24 hours.
A total of 30,465 coronavirus patients have so far recovered from Covid-19 and the percentage of recovery rate stands at 93.53 percent in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, said.
The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutives real- time PCR tests were found negative, he said.
The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached 32,578 amid the frequent rising trend in the daily infection rate in recent days only in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said.
Meanwhile, a total of 38 people were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,280 samples at five COVID-19 laboratories in the district. The infection rate is 2.97 percent.
Among the newly detected patients, 63 are from Chattogram city and four from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
Among the total infected patients, 25400 are the residents of the port city and the rest 7178 are residents of different upazilas of the district.
A total of 1,908 infected patients were also undergoing treatment in designated hospitals in the port city, sources said.
Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said that the death toll from the virus rose to 367 with no fatalities reported afresh in the last 24 hours.
The health official mentioned that the persons, who came in contact with COVID-19 patients, were identified and they were asked to remain in home isolation so that the virus cannot spread further.
