KHULNA, Jan 23, 2021(BSS) – A college student was killed in a road
accident near Baliakhali Bridge in Dumuria upazila here this morning.
The deceased was identified as Zahid Khan, 24, son of Zakir Khan, a
resident of Ranai village under Dumuria upazila.
“The accident took place when a Satkhira-bound bus collided head on with a
motorcycle, leaving Zahid, a graduate student at Dumuria College who was
coming to Dumuria upazila from Kharnia area riding on the bike,” dead on the
spot, said Assistant Inspector of Police Emdad Hossain.
Members of Dumuria Fire Service and Highway Police rescued the injured
passengers from the bus while driver of the bus managed to flee, he said,
adding that the body was handed over to his relatives after an autopsy.
