2 drug peddlers held with 31.8-kg ganja in Natore

RAJSHAHI, Jan 20, 2021 (BSS) – Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 31.8 kilograms of ganja from a place in Natore district last night.

The arrestees were identified as Shaymal Hossain, 51, son of Abdur Rahim Shikder of Bejang village under Lohajang Upazila in Munshiganj district and Ali Akbar, 56, son of Abdul Motaleb of Charkaoa village in Barisal Sadar Upazila, Rab sources said today.

On a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a raid in Kachhikata toll Plaza area on Banpara-Nalka Highway under Gurudaspur Upazila of Natore district around 8:30 pm and arrested them with the hemp after searching a private car, RAB sources said.

The arrestees with the seized contraband goods along with the car were handed over to police today.

A case was filed with Gurudaspur police station in this connection.
